This group meets on the second Saturday of each month at the Ranui Community House. There is a demonstration of new skills each time they meet – recently they have been shown how to make butterflies with icing and previous to that, how to make flowers.
Each year in June the group has a “Big Day Out”.
They all go off to the Remuera Bridge Club where the host club organises at least 6 demonstrators to show everyone examples of cake decorating. This past year it was the ‘4 seasons’ – cakes decorated in the themes of ‘summer, winter, autumn and spring.’ This is an extra cost of $20, but is such a great day with so many new things learned, that it is well worth it.
Each year the Waitakere Club also enters in the Kumeu Show and come away with prizes for their great expertise and skill.
